Suni Lee has disabled comments on her Instagram post featuring her boyfriend after she revealed earlier this month that she’d been receiving “so much hate” over her interracial relationship.
The three-time Olympian left a comment on a fan’s TikTok video, talking about the hate she received from the Hmong American community after going public with her new relationship.
“They support me when it’s beneficial for them, never when it comes to my happiness,” she wrote.
Yesterday, Lee told TMZ Sports that she and her boyfriend are currently very happy together. Further addressing the hate she’d been receiving, Lee noted that relationships like hers should be “normalized.”
For now, Lee, who recently entered her first year of college at Auburn University, is focusing on taking her school’s gymnastics team to the national championships as they enter competitions every weekend.
“We want those rings!” she said.
