A Japanese dancing duo has captivated the internet with their performance to the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from S. S. Rajamouli’s film “RRR.”
In the video’s description, Kaketaku wrote, “RRR’s Naatu Naatu wins Oscar. Congratulations from Japan!”
The Japanese duo’s performance has garnered over 17,000 likes, 114,000 views and hundreds of comments since its upload just a day ago.
Commenters commended the duo for their dancing abilities, as well as their efforts in promoting Indian culture through their dance.

Mayo posted a different dance performance of the song recorded during a Duwali event in Japan on YouTube shorts. The video has so far been viewed over 219k times and received over 21k likes. “Do you know Naatu?” the tweet reads. “We are happy to share with you the Korean Embassy’s Naatu Naatu dance cover. See the Korean Ambassador Chang Jae-bok along with the embassy staff Naatu Naatu!!”
The song, composed by M. M. Keeravani, with lyrics by Chandrabose and recorded by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, has received other numerous accolades in addition to being the first song ever from an Indian movie to win an Oscar.
“RRR” set a new record in Japan, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in the country.
The film has grossed
800 million rupees (approximately $9.7 million) since its release on Oct. 21, 2021, and is still currently in its 20th week in theaters.
