The first trailer for IU and Park Seo-joon’s upcoming sports comedy film “Dream” has been released.
Lee Byeong-heon, best known for directing 2019’s “Extreme Job,” one of South Korea’s highest-grossing films of all time, serves as writer and director.
In “Dream,” Park, 34, plays Yoon Hong-dae, a pro soccer player-turned-coach. Following an unforeseen event, he receives disciplinary probation and is tasked with coaching the South Korean national football team for the Homeless World Cup. Meanwhile, IU, 29, plays Lee So-min, an aspiring filmmaker who is charged with documenting the team’s journey.
Veteran actors cast as the national team’s players include Kim Jong-soo from “Snowdrop” and “Kingdom,” Jung Seung-gi from “Political Fever,” Ko Chang-seok from “Today’s Webtoon” and “The Liar and His Lover” star Lee Hyun-woo. Kang Ha-neul from “The Heirs” and “Midnight Runners” will make a cameo.
Lee Byeong-heon is also slated to lead a Netflix project called “Chicken Nugget.” Meanwhile, Park will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming film “The Marvels.”
“Dream” will premiere on April 26 in South Korean cinemas.
