Apple TV+’s upcoming anthology series “Extrapolations” will feature numerous stars, including Gemma Chan, Yara Shahidi and Indira Varma.
BAFTA-nominated writer Scott Z. Burns, largely known for penning the 2011 medical thriller film “Contagion,” created and co-directed the eight-part interconnected apocalyptic series.
The new show will explore an array of impending disasters due to climate change, from forest fires to floods.
“Eight interwoven stories about love, work, faith and family from across the globe will explore the intimate, life-altering choices that must be made when the planet is changing faster than the population. Every story is different, but the fight for our future is universal. Are we brave enough to become the solution to our own undoing before it’s too late?” the show’s official logline states.
Chan, Shahidi and Varma will be joined by other stars such as Kit Harington, Meryl Streep, Edward Norton, David Schwimmer, Marion Cotillard, Sienna Miller, Diane Lane, Keri Russell, Heather Graham, Forest Whitaker, Eiza González and Tobey Maguire, to name a few.
On Thursday, Apple TV shared the official trailer for the highly anticipated show.
The first three episodes of “Extrapolations” will premiere on Apple TV Plus on March 17, with the remaining five episodes set to release weekly until April 21.
