Lana Condor and Yara Shahidi have joined the cast of the upcoming action survival-thriller “Ballerina Overdrive.”
Condor, who is best known as the lead in Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” series, and Shahidi, who is best known for the ABC sitcom “Black-ish,” will join the likes of “Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey, Isabela Merced from “Instant Family,” Millicent Simmonds from “A Quiet Place” and Iris Apatow from “The Bubble” in a new film produced by David Leitch. Leitch has directed “Bullet Train,” “Deadpool 2,” and “Atomic Blonde.”
“Ballerina Overdrive” tells the story of a group of ballerinas who find themselves in a fight for survival when their bus breaks down on the way to a dance competition. 
The film will be directed by Vicky Jewson, who previously directed “The Witcher: Blood Origin.” Kate Freund, who is known for “Afterlife” wrote the script.
Stunt designers Heidi Moneymaker and Renae Moneymaker, who worked on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and “Project Artemis,” have been tasked with designing action-choreography rooted in dance.
Filming is slated to start in Serbia during the second quarter of 2023.
