Here’s How Much Uber and Lyft Drivers Earn Per Ride Across Major Cities in the U.S.

For anyone looking to make some extra money on the side, driving for Uber or Lyft may eventually cross your mind.
SherpaShare, a financial analytics site, lets Uber and Lyft drivers track their earnings. The site collected data from more than a million drivers between January and May of 2015 to gain the average fair price per ride in 20 major cities. Here’s what they came up with:

Drivers can earn close to $30 per ride in New York City, but only just over $10 a ride in cities like Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
According to Business Insider, the most recent reports from Uber reveal that drivers earn an hourly wage of $30. SherpaShare didn’t provide the average number of rides per hour that drivers give, but average fair prices in New York City for both Uber and Lyft fall around $29.
