Taylor Swift Still Bitter About Spotify, Calls it a ‘Startup with No Cash Flow’

Taylor Swift is still feeling salty about Spotify not paying artists enough, or at least not appreciating the value of her art as much as she’d like
After she pulled her music off of Spotify last year over compensation issues, Swift made headlines this year when she successfully changed Apple’s mind on paying artists during the trial period of Apple Music.
She believed it was ironic that a small startup like Spotify didn’t jump at the opportunity to keep her while a huge tech corporation did. She explained to Vanity Fair:
“Apple treated me like I was a voice of a creative community that they actually cared about. And I found it really ironic that the multibillion-dollar company reacted to criticism with humility, and the startup with no cash flow reacted to criticism like a corporate machine.”
“Startup with no cash flow” is just about the biggest diss you can dish out at a startup because potential alone can never outlast cold, hard profits. Either way, it might be healthier to just let it go.
