Ajumma EXP may be a bit older than your typical K-pop girl group out there, but they are certainly just as fierce.

Energetic, graceful, and always permed to perform, these dancing ajummas (Korean word for a “middle-aged woman”) are always delightful to watch whenever they put on a show at Korean American gathering sites.

According to their official website, the talented group of middle-aged dancing aunties “embrace growing older, getting wiser, and being able to laugh at ourselves.” Their main goal is to educate and entertain the world about the “Ajumma” through a fun medium such as dancing.

“We boogie, we bargain, and we bust-ass… because we’ve earned the right to. So grab your sun visor and join us in celebrating middle-aged women everywhere through the Ajumma EXPerience.”
Created by lead ajumma members Sonia Chin and Lee Ann Kim, Ajumma EXP made their international debut when they crashed the dance floor at the San Diego Asian Film Festival in November last year. The visor-wearing aunties performed a flash mob dance set to JJ Fad’s “Supersonic,” earning cheers from the crowd at the event.
Last week, they made their presence known again via another flash mob inside a Korean grocery store in San Diego during Korean American Day, which celebrates the experiences and contributions of Korean Americans in the United States.
