“Parasite,” the South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho, is far from done reaping accolades overseas.
After becoming the first Korean film to ever win the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year, the film earned three nominations in the upcoming 77th Golden Globe Awards.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees on Monday, revealing that the movie scored nominations for Best Director (Motion Picture), Best Screenplay (Motion Picture), and Best Foreign Language Film.

Bong Joon-ho also shares screenwriting credits with Han Jin Won for the film which many critics consider to be their “film of the year.”
Bong, who is currently ranked number 13 on Metacritic’s list of the 25 best film directors of the 21st century, is also known for his directorial and script-writing work on “The Host,” “Snowpiercer,” and “Okja.”
The 2020 Golden Globe Awards is set to take place on January 5 at 6 p.m. EST.
