Streaming service Netflix is set to captivate global audiences in 2024 with a diverse lineup of Korean content, including returning favorites like “Squid Game” and “Sweet Home.”
Anticipated returns: This year’s fan favorites include the anticipated second season of “Squid Game” and the third season of “Sweet Home.” “Gyeongseong Creature,” the thriller series starring Park Seo-joon and Han So-hee, will also be releasing its new season set in present-day Seoul, while “Hellbound” Season 2 will delve into the aftermath of the first season’s chaos.
“This year, our K-Content lineup delivers a diverse array of titles that capture the true essence of Korean storytellers. Whether it’s series, films, or innovative unscripted shows, we’ll share unforgettable experiences with entertainment fans worldwide and unmissable titles that you can enjoy only on Netflix,” said Don Kang, vice president of content (Korea), Netflix.
Quarter 1: In the first quarter of 2024 (January to March), Netflix has or will be releasing titles including “The Bequeathed,” “Captivating the King,” “Badland Hunters,” “Doctor Slump,” “A Killer Paradox,” “Risqué Business: The Netherlands and Germany,” “My Name is Loh Kiwan,” “Queen of Tears” and “Chicken Nugget.”
But perhaps the most anticipated series is “Physical: 100,” which became the first unscripted series to hit No. 1 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list. The new season will feature a new group of 100 contestants from even more diverse backgrounds as they push their boundaries in extensive challenges within a new underground concept.
