‘Twenty-Five Twenty-One’ star Nam Joo-hyuk to enlist in military police force
South Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk is set to join the military in a few months.
According to Soompi, a source from his agency Management SOOP gave an update about his upcoming military service, saying, “It is true that Nam Joo Hyuk was accepted into the military police force. He will be enlisting in the police squad on March 20.”
The 28-year-old actor, who is best known for his roles in K-dramas such as “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo” and “Start-Up,” recently completed filming for his latest project, Disney Plus’ “Vigilante.” He was reportedly waiting for his draft notice while filming was ongoing.
Currently, all able-bodied South Korean men must enlist for two years of military service by the age of 28. Nam, who was born in 1994, turns 29 on Feb. 22.
He applied to the Capital Defense Command Military Police Group in May 2022, according to reports. Upon enlisting this March, he will undergo five weeks of basic military training at the army training center. Afterward, he will be assigned to his station.
