Mongolia Releases Trailer for Very First Animated Movie ‘Genghis Khan’

After five years of development, the first trailer for the upcoming “Genghis Khan” animated movie from Mongolian filmmakers, Ocean Pictures, has arrived.
“2D and 3D combined animation ‘Genghis Khan’ is the first Mongolian animation since film industry was established in Mongolia,” the studio posted on its Facebook page. “We are presenting ‘Genghis Khan’ animation based on the ‘Secret History of Mongolia’ under the auspices of the President of Mongolia Battulga Khaltmaa.”
The movie depicts the life and story of Genghis Khan, who is also known by his birth name as Temujin, the Mongolian who conquered most of Eurasia during the Mongol invasion in the 13th century.
However, it seems like the animated film will add a few elements of fantasy into the mix as monsters and other beings are briefly featured in some of the shots.
The first trailer also teases massive war, intense monster chases, and the relationship between Temujin and his child friend and future rival, Jamukha.
Unfortunately, Ocean Pictures has yet to announce an official release date for “Genghis Khan”.
