Ming-Na Wen Calls Out Netflix for Excluding Her and BD Wong in ‘Mulan’ Credits

Ming-Na Wen, the voice behind Fa Mulan, joined in the outcry of fans who discovered that her name was nowhere in Netflix’s official description of the 1998 Disney classic.
The 55-year-old actress described the incident as a “major oversight,” considering that the streaming service left out any mention of Asians involved in the production of the animated film centered on Chinese culture.
After producer Dave Sanchez pointed out that Wen was not in the credits, the “Mulan” actress had to jump on board.
“Yeah, that’s EFF-ed up, @netflix!”
She also called to include BD Wong, who voiced Li Shang, Mulan’s love interest in the movie.
“I also believe another AsianAm lead voice should also be on the credit. #bdwong How about all the #Mulan fans out there tweet @netflix about this major oversight? Thanks!”
Many slammed the streaming giant for what is clearly a huge blunder.
However, Netflix promptly responded to the issue, adding that Wen and Wong are “legends.”
Another fan shared a screenshot of the new credits, which finally includes Wen and Wong’s names.
