Sudo, 33, wolfed down 31 hot dogs in the women’s division of the famous Fourth of July contest, which has taken place in Coney Island, Brooklyn most years since 1972.
While Sudo failed to beat her personal best of 37 hot dogs last year, she smoothly defeated second-placer Michelle Lesco, who finished with 26 hot dogs.
“A 6th win is great, but the support I’ve gotten from some of my fellow competitors has been invaluable,” the Arizona resident said in an Instagram post.
Sudo took home the “bejeweled” pink belt for the first time in 2014 after beating Sonya “The Black Widow” Thomas, a Korean American who won the women’s division since its inception in 2011.
With her sixth victory, Sudo is now tied with Takeru Kobayashi (2001 – 2006) for the second-longest winning streak in the contest.
Sudo won alongside Joey Chestnut, who gobbled 71 hot dogs to his 4th straight win and 12th victory in total.
According to Major League Eating, Sudo also holds world records for kimchi (8.5 pounds/3.86 kilograms in six minutes), ice cream (16.5 pints/7.8 liters in six minutes) and wild rice hot dish (14 pounds/6.35 kilograms in eight minutes).
Sudo and Chestnut will each take home $10,000.
