Lewis Hamilton shares video of himself speeding, doing donuts in R34 Skyline GT-R on Tokyo streets

British race car driver Lewis Hamilton took to social media on Wednesday to share a video of himself driving a rented Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R around Tokyo.

The 37-year-old Formula One champion traveled to Japan following his retirement at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, according to Motor1.

“I only like to drive on track, but I make exceptions,” Hamilton wrote on Instagram.

The Nissan Skyline R34, which can sell for up to $188,500, is seen in the video being driven at high speeds on the Tokyo Expressway. The clip ends with Hamilton doing all-wheel-drive donuts in what appears to be an empty parking lot.

However, the Formula One driver may have violated the terms of the rental company he borrowed the car from.

“This is a car from Omoshiro Rent-A-Car, but it was not taken with permission from our company,” a Twitter account claiming to be associated with the company posted, according to a Google translation. “Such driving is strictly prohibited.”

While Hamilton is unlikely to be reprimanded by Japanese authorities, he was caught by police doing donuts in Melbourne, Australia, in 2010, according to the SportsRush.

In 2007, Hamilton was banned from driving in France after going over the 121-miles-per-hour speed limit.
