Karaoke Party Turns Deadly After Man Goes on Stabbing Spree For Being Booed in Vietnam
A Vietnamese man went on a stabbing rampage, killing a fellow guest and seriously injuring another after people booed him during his karaoke performance at a wedding party in Southern Vietnam.
According to the VNExpress (via The Guardian), 44-year-old Nguyen Ngoc Diep was in the middle of a song when other wedding guests started booing and mocking his singing.
One of the guests even grabbed the microphone from him and made fun of him on the stage. The rude act enraged the karaoke singer, sparking an argument between the two. Another guest came in between the two men, trying to break the fight, but instead got stabbed multiple times. The 35-year-old man, named Le Hong An, died later in a hospital.
In Vietnam, karaoke is quite a common feature in wedding events. Typically, these Karaoke parties are mixed with heavy alcohol drinking.
According to BBC, this is the third karaoke-relted killing in Vietnam this month alone. A man was also stabbed to death by his friend over a dispute during a singing session in early May. Two weeks ago, a man was killed after trying to get customers to pay their karaoke bill.
