Japanese Coffeehouse Unveils Cold Coffee Jelly Noodles for the Summer
By Bryan Ke
Tanuki Coffee, a Japanese specialty coffeehouse, has just unveiled its new product called the Coffee Gelatin Soba, which is essentially chilled coffee jelly noodles perfect for tackling the heat this summer.
Customers are being encouraged to use chopsticks when they order this innovative chilled coffee from the store since this is designed to look like soba – and intended to be eaten like it, too.
Unlike the traditional soba, which is always accompanied by a bonito stock broth, the Coffee Gelatin Soba will come with a container of blueberry syrup, according to At Press via SoraNews24. But the process of eating it remains the same as the customer would have to dip the gelatin into the blueberry syrup container before chowing it down.
Unfortunately, those who’d like to try this will have to wait for a few more days as Tanuki Coffee has set to release this as part of their menu on June 29 for 650 Japanese yen ($6).
