There is Now an Iconic Indomie Goreng Stir Fry Noodle Ice Cream Flavor

Evelyn and Stephen, the owners of Holi, took inspiration from their love of Indomie Goreng — instant noodles served with oil, soy sauce and seasoning — and their habit of eating their own work when they created the flavor.

“There was one time after having indomie goreng after work, me and my partner thought that it would be cool if we have indomie goreng flavor for dessert,” Evelyn told NextShark.

Evelyn and Stephen experimented with the flavor and were surprised at how the ice cream turned out. They even had their family test the Indomie Goreng flavor out.

“We tried giving the ice cream to our family without telling them that it was indomie goreng ice cream. They said it was really good, but they were surprised when I told them that was indomie goreng ice cream,” she said. “I thought I should share this unique taste ice cream to other people rather than keep it for ourselves.”

The Indomie Goreng ice cream was first launched on August 10 to positive responses, Jakarta Post reported.

One Instagram user commended the ice cream for being “not too sweet” with only a “hint of Indomie Goreng.”

Other ice cream enthusiasts found the flavor to be weird, especially with the addition of fried onions on top of the ice cream.

“Try it at least once! You either love it or hate it,” Evelyn said. “We only live once, we have to try something we never tried before.”

The Indomie Goreng ice cream is priced at 45,000 Indonesian Rupiah ($3.05) for the 300 milliliters (10 ounces).

Unfortunately, their product is only available in Jakarta, but Evelyn assured NextShark they are looking to deliver the sweet treat to other places “as soon as possible.”
