Harry Shum Jr. is Named Ambassador to 25th SAG Awards

“Shadowhunters” star Harry Shum Jr. is the official ambassador for the 25th Screen Actor Guild (SAG) Awards.
The ceremony will be held at Los Angeles’s Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 27 with live broadcast on TNT and TBS at 8PM EST (5PM PST).
 
Shum’s appointment comes ahead of the announcement of the full list of award nominees.
As ambassador, the “Crazy Rich Asians” star is tasked to attend pre-show events, share insider views on social media, and announce the film and TV stunt ensembles honored for outstanding action performances during the pre-show webcast.

People can also look to Shum to post news about the event, as well as behind-the-scenes impressions of the production ahead of the ceremony.
Additionally, the 36-year-old actor will attend the Pouring of the Actor statuette, the “Cocktails with the SAG Awards” media  day, and share his thoughts and experiences before and during the show.

Shum is a SAG Award winner himself, bagging “Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series” in 2010 for his work on “Glee” as Mike Chang. He also won the People’s Choice Awards for Male TV Star in 2018 for his role as Magnus Bane on “Shadowhunters.”
In a Twitter post, he described his appointment as an “incredible honor.”
