Goodbye Pokémon Go, Super Mario is Coming to iOS and Android Soon

If there was something people got excited about at the recently concluded iPhone 7 Launch event on Wednesday in California, it certainly was not the new iPhone color variant, nor the ultra pricey earbuds. One of the few things that got a lot of people really stoked was finally being able to play a Super Mario game on iOS.
A soon-to-be-released Nintendo game about the iconic video game character was just announced at the Apple event by Shigeru Miyamoto himself, the legendary Japanese video designer behind Super Mario Bros franchise, Forbes reported.
Called “Super Mario Run,” the game will feature an all-new, simpler and toned down game-play, with a variety of game modes and will look sightly different than the game that everybody has grown up with.
With just a finger, users can control the Italian plumber by making him jump as he automatically runs from left to right on the iPhone screen. Those who miss seeing the lovable character collecting coins and jumping over obstacles will definitely be looking forward to its scheduled December release.
Twitter immediately exploded with anticipation after the announcement, with many who expressed eagerness to playing the game right away.

Super Mario Run’s price (it’s free to try) is yet to be announced. The game, which will also feature in-app purchases, will be available in over 100 countries, in nine languages upon launch.
While the game will initially be available only to iOS, Nintendo said that they plan to bring the game to Android in the future. “We do intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future,” a Nintendo spokesperson told Kotaku.
