Irvine Lawyer Claims She’s Receiving Threats After Facebook Post Joking About Asian Stereotypes

Ignatius, who is said to be the top law school tutor in the United States, made the claim while speaking with The OC Register on Saturday.

“I didn’t have any intent of anger and hatred,” the lawyer said. “If you have no malintent, you didn’t do anything wrong.”

Susan Kang Schroeder, the Korean-born chief of staff of Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas, also condemned the lawyer for her social media post.

“I am saddened by your racist, insensitive and simply unacceptable post. It’s hard to imagine that an attorney in Orange County would make such an ignorant post in 2018,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

Ignatius, or “Tenacious Ignatius” as she called herself on Instagram before changing it, likened the movie “Crazy Rich Asians” to “the Asians who flooded into Orange County and then took over our mall at South Coast Plaza,” and how they are “snoshy,” which stands for being posh and snobby.

“You can see them around Fendi, Dior, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton. They have a zoned-in personality where they act as if no one else exists and they just run straight in front of you to grab the next purse,” she continued in her now-deleted Facebook post.

Ignatius continued by dropping other stereotypes such as “driving like an Asian,” being a “Tiger Mom,” becoming a “docta;” and Asian tourist stereotypes.

Ignatius followed up her controversial post with an update defending herself by stating that she doesn’t despise Asians. This was accompanied by a link of JustKiddingFilms’s viral sketch “Shit Asian Moms Say.”

“I do not hate Asians. I really love them and I find differences to be funny and interesting,” she wrote in the post, which has since been deleted.
