Chinese Piano Prodigy Wows Netizens With Epic Performance on Australian Talent Show

Chen Anke flew all the way from China to make herself known to the Australian crowd, and host Shane Jacobson couldn’t help but ask the child prodigy if she likes popular musical artists such as Taylor Swift.

However, the adorable little girl revealed that she doesn’t listen to pop artists, but instead takes inspiration from her favorite classical musicians, namely Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Chen’s response didn’t just resonate with the crowd in attendance, but it also impressed Jacobson himself as he exclaimed, “Wow!”

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the piano prodigy proceeded to play “Flight of the Bumblebee”, a classical piece that would take most people years to master.

Chen revealed that she only started playing piano two years ago when she was just four years old as she practiced for four hours a day. While two years of practice is such a short time to be considered a piano master, it only took Chen that long to play intricate pieces such as Frederic Chopin’s “Minute Waltz”.

According to Classic FM, Chen studied at China’s Tianjin Conservatory of Music where she was mentored by Zhang Feng, the person that Chen aspires to be when she grows up.

The 6-year-old prodigy is garnering so much attention that people are already comparing her to the famous 35-year-old Chinese pianist, Lang Lang.

Chen isn’t a household name in China just yet as she only exploded onto Chinese social media after her recent talent show appearance, according to Shanghaiist.

However, this isn’t the first time Chen has been featured on an international stage as she previously showcased her talent on American television.
