BTS Makes History With Their First Major GRAMMY Nomination for ‘Dynamite’

Members of the South Korean supergroup took to Twitter to share their reactions to their historic nomination in the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards. In the short clip, V, Jungkook, RM and Jimin can be seen celebrating after seeing their names when Megan Thee Stallion read the pop category nominations.
Based on the official list unveiled on Tuesday, BTS is nominated in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for their English-language single “Dynamite”. The nomination marks the first time a K-pop group has been recognized in a major GRAMMYs category.
It’s worth noting that the seven-member group also became the first K-pop group to present at the GRAMMY Awards in 2019, the same year the design for their album “Love Yourself: Tear” was nominated for Best Recording Package, NextShark previously reported.
In 2020, BTS was not nominated in any category but made a memorable appearance at the ceremony to perform “Old Town Road” with Lil Nas X.
