Bay Area Couple Discovers Adorable Hidden Message While Redoing Their Bathroom
By Ryan General
A couple in San Jose, California, were renovating their bathroom when they stumbled upon a pleasant surprise behind the walls they tore down.
In a Twitter post, user @AlexMonney revealed that he and his wife Jess discovered a message left by one of the home’s previous residents after contractors ripped out the walls.
“Hi! We’re the Shinseki’s! We remodeled this bathroom summer 1995. If you’re reading this, that means you’re remodeling the bathroom again. What’s wrong with the way we did it?!?!”
There were two more messages from their pet which read, “Hi! I’m Cassie the bunny rabbit. I lived here too! (I’m potty trained!)” and “I’m going to be the next Cadbury Bunny.”
In just 24 hours, the tweet received over 80,000 likes and got curious netizens trying to track the Shinseki family.
The search may not be too far off since one Twitter user replied claiming to be related to the Shinsekis.
The reply alone sparked an epic thread in itself:
In an interview with BuzzFeed, Alex said he found the surprise message funny.
“We thought it was hilarious!” Alex was quoted as saying. “Totally unexpected so it gave us a good laugh throughout the day.”
According to Alex, he and Jess also have a message for the Shinsekis:
“Your bathroom, and home, is lovely. It has given us a lot of beautiful memories and we can’t wait to raise our little baby girl here. Sorry, we’re changing the bathroom, but the shower is too small for me to fit in (I’m 6′ and my wife is 5′). Thank you for the amazing surprise!”
Wherever you are Shinseki family, the internet says “Thank You” for the good chuckle.
