In a very surprising turn of events, Ariana Grande cancelled her Vietnam concert, leaving fans with mixed emotions on August 23.
Citing unspecified health issues, the 24-year-old pop sensation apologized to her fans through an Instagram live post, a few hours before her scheduled stage appearance, according to Taiwan News.
My babes in Vietnam, I apologize from the bottom of my heart but I’m really dealing with some health problems at the moment,” Grande said. “I came here to Vietnam, so excited to perform, my doctor won’t allow me to do the show for you tonight. I am so so sorry. There is nothing I hate to do more than to do this but I promise to make it up to you in the future. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

The organizers of the concert are now trying to get in touch with Grande’s team to discuss measures to compensate fans who waited for her at the Quan Khu 7 Stadium in Hochiminh, Vietnam.
Those expecting to see the pop star sing and dance on stage were not entirely pleased with what happened. One user on Twitter vented out his frustration, saying: “We want her not to come back to Vietnam. 1000km flying to see her and 3hrs waiting for her in the rain.”
Vietnam is not the first stop on Grande’s “Dangerous Woman” tour in Asia. The singer was in South Korea earlier this month, where she also received heavy criticism from her fans. Some called her rude, while others called her out for being late.
Grande’s next appearance will be in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou Shi, China, during the last days of August. She is scheduled to head over to New Zealand and Australia in September.
