“It’s Okay Not To Be Okay” actor Oh Jung-se took a cello-playing autistic fan to Lotte World for the second time after promising to meet again once he was finished with self-quarantine.
Oh played an autistic character named Moon Sang-tae in the 2020 hit K-drama “It’s Okay Not To Be Okay.” The series follows a man, Moon Kang-tae, who works at a psychiatric hospital where he meets Ko Moon-young, a famous children’s books author who has antisocial personality disorder. Oh played the brother of Kang-tae in the series.
According to his sister, when Bae first saw a scene of Sang-tae screaming and crying at the character Moon-young’s fan meeting event, Bae felt that he deeply related to the character and wanted to “protect” and “make Sang-tae feel better.”
Bae’s sister contacted Oh in 2020 and explained that her brother had been begging to meet “Sang-tae” to spend the day at Lotte World. In addition to meeting Bae at Lotte World, Oh showed up as his character Sang-tae, wearing the same outfit seen in the series.
Two years later, Oh took the cellist fan to Lotte World for a second time after promising to meet once his self-quarantine was over. Although he did not show up as the character Sang-tae, Bae explains that Oh took care of him like a brother. Bae posted a series of Instagram photos on Monday sharing the exciting day that he had with Oh.
In his Instagram post’s caption, Bae explains that Oh protected him throughout the day and was patient and kind when accompanying him to the bathroom.
“Every time I went to the bathroom, Oh accompanied me. I have a tendency to be neat and was worried that he would be embarrassed of me but he always assured me that it’s OK. He has no idea how much that made my heart feel warm and happy and grateful,” Bae wrote on Instagram.
