This 12-Year-Old Just Scored an IQ Higher Than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking

Nicole Barr is a 12-year-old from the United Kingdom who recently achieved a perfect score on her Mensa IQ test, ranking her two points above legendary geniuses Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Nicole and her father, Jim, took the test on the same day a couple of weeks ago, and she received her perfect 162 score on Thursday. Jim told Yahoo Parenting:

“I was expecting her to do well. I knew she had a quick mind for working out problems and puzzles. I didn’t want to put any pressure on her, so we went for the fun of it. I had the idea in my mind that she would get into Mensa, but when I got the results back, I thought, ‘Wow that’s a high score!’ It wasn’t until later that I learned it was the top score possible on that test.

“She’s always loved numbers and puzzles, and she’s always been excellent at math, performing several years ahead of her age group in school. It’s just the type of thing she likes to do. She likes challenging herself.”

According to Ann Clarkson, communications manager for British Mensa, Barr’s score puts her at the top 1% of the population.

Jim told Yahoo Parenting that he noticed his daughter had an easy time with the test and never once seemed stumped by a question. She also scored significantly higher than him.

“She was rubbing my face in it a bit,” Jim said.

Nicole says that she wants to be a doctor someday or “maybe invent a new medicine.” Jim said:

“She sees things with a different point of view, even when many adults might be scratching their heads.”
