Fans of Katsushika Hokusai’s “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” can now own a copy of the beloved woodblock print – in Lego form.
On Thursday, Lego announced the latest addition to its Lego Art line. The set includes 1,810 pieces and a premium instruction booklet with information about Hokusai’s artwork, which was produced in 1831.
“This is a joyful and creative project for art lovers to produce their own unique dimensional piece of art. Finish the artwork with a decorative tile featuring Hokusai’s signature, before you proudly display it on your wall at home or at the office,” Lego’s official website says.
The set also comes with an exclusive soundtrack that builders can listen to while constructing their new artwork.
“It will add to your overall experience and provide a wonderful sense of peace and relaxation. The Soundtrack is tailor-made with content to enhance the time you spend creating your Japanese wall art and includes interviews and stories about the artist Katsushika Hokusai and his most popular piece of work,” the Danish toy company stated.
Measuring 20.5 inches wide and 15.5 inches tall, the immersive building project features a 3-dimensional style and even comes with a frame and hanger elements for anyone wishing to showcase their masterpiece or adorn a bare wall.
Last year, the toy company released a Lego Art set of Vincent Van Gogh’s ”The Starry Night.”
The “Great Wave” set can be purchased on the Lego website at a retail price of $99.99.
