Kim Jong Un’s Nephew Randomly Appears, Ensures Everyone He’s Safe

A video has emerged online featuring a man who introduced himself as Kim Han Sol, the son of the recently assassinated Kim Jong Nam.

It was the first time he surfaced following his father’s death.

Nam, the half-brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, died in Malaysia on 13 February 2017, after female assassins approached him at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and rubbed his face with a toxic nerve agent.

The video featuring Nam’s 21-year-old son was uploaded to YouTube by the group “Cheollima Civil Defense”, which was said to have “extracted” some members of Kim Jong Nam’s family.

After identifying himself, Kim Han Sol showed his passport to the camera. The video had been edited to hide some information on the passport.

“I’m currently with my mother and my sister,” he said, adding, “We hope this gets better soon.” According to an accompanying statement by Cheollima Civil Defense, they were aided by the governments of the Netherlands, the U.S., and South Korea.

While there was no information on the date and location of the video’s recording, Kim Han Sol did mention that his father was killed “a few days ago.”

In older social media posts uncovered by South Korean media, Kim Han Sol reportedly expressed guilt for having enough to eat while people in North Korea were starving and criticized his family’s role in the suffering of the North Korean people.

His father was the unofficial heir-apparent to the former North Korean ruler, Kim Jong-il until he fell out of favor with the regime in 2001 following a failed attempt to secretly visit Disneyland in Japan.
