A Chinese national in Malaysia who proclaimed himself as the “future richest man in the world” has organized a charity dinner attended by around 1,000 guests.

Zhang Jian held his dinner party at Chai Leng Park in Butterworth, Penang, on Sunday, promising guests a RM 1,000 ($235) incentive if they show up with the “right look.”

According to The Star, each guest had to pay ($47) for the dinner where Zhang, surprisingly, was not seen. He was reportedly in the Maldives.

Guests also needed to dye their hair in yellow or gold to enter the venue. Reporters, on the other hand, were prevented from entering and covering the event.

Still, Zhang, who owns a multi-level marketing company called YSLM, appears to be quite known in Malaysia. He reportedly organized similar events back in April, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Sabah, though most of his guests were also Chinese nationals.

In December 2016, he also held a charity dinner in Selangor, which was organized by his company.

YSLM, however, is pretty infamous. According to Free Malaysia Today, Zhang’s company became widely known in 2014 over allegations of scamming people via pyramid and “get-rich-quick” schemes. In the same year, Malaysia’s Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism claimed that it had no license to operate and was not registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia.

Zhang, yet again in the same year, was reportedly arrested in Thailand for scamming RM 605 million ($141.8 million) out of people’s pockets in China, Malaysia and Thailand.
