In a viral video, a woman is seen helping a baby elephant struggling to walk out of a muddy roadside.
In the video uploaded to Reddit on Wednesday, the woman, who speaks Thai with a person who is off-camera, pulls at the baby elephant’s legs to direct it out of the mud. Although it takes a couple of attempts, the teamwork between the two allows the baby animal to walk out of the mud and onto the pavement.
In response to the woman’s act of kindness, the baby elephant lifts its muddy trunk toward her, seemingly thanking her for her actions.
Twitter user @susantananda3 reuploaded the video on Thursday.
“She helped the elephant baby to come out from the mud it was stuck in. Baby acknowledges with a blessing,” they explained in their caption.
Reddit and Twitter users found the video heartwarming and praised the woman with their own comments.
“Just as life, all that someone needs is a little bit of encouragement and reaching out :). Wow! This is so heartwarming,” one Twitter user commented.
“The world thrives because of such kind souls,” another tweeted, appreciating the woman’s actions.
“That little ‘thank you’ with the trunk right at the end! My heart!” a redditor wrote.
“Why is everything they do ADORABLE,” another commented.
On Reddit, the video has gained over 34,000 upvotes and 644 comments as of this writing.
